The grille can be mounted on almost all types of gutters. Not only gutters of zinc, but also of copper or plastic. With copper gutters, a tape or the like must be applied between the aluminum and the copper to prevent corrosion. Gutters with bead or without bead. Because the grille can be completely customized and bent, it fits on almost every gutter. There is also no minimum width required and if the gutter is wider, the grille can be widened with an extra grille by connecting the elements with stainless steel screws.
Does the gutter grille keep pine needles out?
Due to the small holes and special shape in which the grid is placed, it is virtually impossible for pine needles to get through the grid.
Is the gutter grille easy to remove?
The gutter grille is easy to disassemble at the front by loosening the brackets or screws "at the front". To completely disassemble the grid, the screws in the tile battens must also be loosened. Then it can also be easily mounted again. However, it is rare that the grille has to be dismantled again shortly after installation.
Can the holes in the grille become clogged?
The grate is regularly flushed by the rain and the holes remain open. Moreover, aluminum naturally does not give optimal adhesion to lichens and mosses. In the worst case scenario, the grille can be sprayed with a high-pressure cleaner, but we have not heard any such complaints. Even when a lot of leaves fall, the throughput of rainwater remains good. It is advisable to treat your roof tiles against algae and moss growth at least every three years. The advantage of this is that the agent also ends up on the gutter grille, which will also make the grille cleaner. In principle, we are convinced that the grille will in most cases not become clogged 10 years after installation.
Can the gutter still get full?
The gutter grille stops leaves and needles so that the gutter cannot become full. Grit or sand can get through the holes, but the gutter is always flushed by the flow of rainwater.
How does the installation of the gutter grille work?
The gutter grille must be placed/bent in the correct angle over the entire length "according to the gutter width". This requires a press brake but can also be done without a press machine as we show in our videos. Click here. But first the correct slope must be determined with a swing hook. We then bend all gutter gratings to the correct angle. Then we clean the gutters. Mount the gutter grates with 3 stainless steel screws to the bottom batten. Two openings have been made at the front for special stainless steel mounting clips for gutters with a round bead. Attach the grille to the front with two stainless steel mounting clips. If there is no round bead or no stainless steel mounting clips can be used, the grille can be fixed in the bead of the gutter with stainless steel screws. It is advisable to pre-drill holes with a smaller drill bit than the screws themselves. The grille can be fixed to the bead with two glue clamps to promote straight mounting. Use a swing hook to keep the distance between the grille and the bottom of the gutter the same at all times. When the first gutter grille is fixed, the next one can be attached. What is the cheapest way to protect my gutters?
The cheapest way is not to use stainless steel mounting clips during assembly. It is possible to fix the grille in the bead with stainless steel screws. Fix the grille in the right place with two glue clamps to the bead and drill three small holes in the bead where you can then mount the screws. This saves you the purchase of two stainless steel mounting clips per meter.
Can stone martens get through your aluminum marten bird screens?
We offer material in 1 and 2 mm thickness. 2 mm thickness is always resistant to martens or other rodents. It is advisable to always choose a 2 mm thickness for a solar panel screen if you need it to be resistant to martens. For barriers under roof tiles, material of 1 mm thickness is sufficient because the material is clamped between the roof tiles and the roof boarding, which strengthens it so that a marten cannot gnaw through it.
